New community at Wentworth View in Thorpe Hesley is complete

A new community has taken shape at Wentworth View in the South Yorkshire village of Thorpe Hesley.

Jones Homes has finished building 144 new homes at the development, off Upper Wortley Road, following a five-year build programme. The first residents moved into their new homes in 2021, putting down roots to establish what is now a close-knit neighbourhood.

As well as building the new homes, Jones Homes has been closely involved in providing funding for local facilities and services. The company has paid more than £400,000 through the Community Infrastructure Levy, in addition to contributions of £250,000 for schools and £72,000 for sustainable travel.

Jayne Swift, Sales and Marketing Director for Jones Homes Yorkshire, said: “There is a real community feel at Wentworth View – it is an incredibly friendly place to live. Residents have got to know each other, regularly get together and are always ready to join in with events at the show home or pop into the office for a chat with our sales advisor Gail.

“The people who have moved in here have made a positive contribution to the area by building a thriving community and supporting the local economy.

“And we have supported the neighbourhood by creating open spaces and a play area near the village school, which helps bring people together even more.

“The development has created a particularly attractive entrance to the village. Customers – who include both local people and those drawn by the village’s strong commuter links near the M1 – have been impressed by the style, quality and size of the properties we have built here, and the location next to open countryside makes it a place people love coming home to.

“Although our work on Wentworth View has ended, we are looking forward to starting work on a new six-home project in the village which is our Wentworth View – London Way development. We plan to start work on this smaller development of three and four-bedroom houses here in the new year.”

There’s currently a choice of three five-bedroom detached houses remaining for sale at Wentworth View, with prices starting from £569,995.

These homes include the three-storey Bowdon show home which comes with all fixtures and fittings included and has been finished with an upgraded specification. It has a detached double garage, a modern kitchen and open-plan family dining space, and a garden room with bifold doors leading to the rear garden, as well as a study and a living room.
