Jones Homes highlights how Agency Assist scheme can help ‘second steppers’

Jones Homes North West is marking New Homes Week by highlighting an initiative to help people sell their home so that they can buy a new-build property that better suits their needs.

The homebuilder runs a scheme called Agency Assist, to help customers who want to buy one of its homes but haven’t sold their old one yet.

For customers using the scheme, Jones Homes will appoint an independent agent to value their existing home – and hold the new Jones Homes property they’d like to move to for up to six-weeks while a buyer for their old place is found.

The housebuilder will liaise with the estate agent and will pay up to £3,000 towards estate agent fees as part of the deal. The money is paid on legal completion of the purchase of the new Jones Homes property.

New Homes Week, run by the Home Builders Federation, is from Monday 27 February to Friday 3 March this year and highlights the benefits of buying a new-build home.

Sales Director for Jones Homes North West, Simon Whalley, said: “Agency Assist can take a lot of the worry and hassle away from the process of moving house.

“We know that once people have seen the new-build house they want, they are keen to get things moving so that they can secure the plot and start planning for the future.

“By using our Agency Assist scheme it means there is one less thing to worry about. Customers are happy to know that the sale of their current home is being taken care of and that up to £3,000 of the fees will be paid by us.

“The scheme is especially useful for second-steppers – people who are buying their second home. While being a first-time buyer can be daunting, it’s often overlooked how challenging that second step can be.

“Often second steppers are at a crucial moment in their lives, perhaps moving location for work, or starting or increasing their family and requiring a lot more space. Whatever the reason, they may need a bit of support and advice to help them make the leap – so knowing they have Agency Assist in their corner can make that side of things that bit easier.”

When someone signs up for the scheme, which is available on selected plots, Jones Homes appoints independent agents to value the customer’s property and draw up a report giving a realistic selling price.

Once the price is agreed, Jones Homes will hold the new-build property that’s been chosen for a maximum of six weeks while the old house is marketed.

Jones Homes North West is building new homes across Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
