Jones Homes hosts coronation street party at Sanctuary Wilmslow

Residents at Sanctuary Wilmslow joined in the celebrations to mark the coronation of King Charles III at a street party hosted by Jones Homes and funded by Handforth Town Council through a community grant.

The event was held on Saturday 6 May, with a big screen set up at The Clubhouse at the development, off Coppice Way in Wilmslow, so people could come together to watch the ceremony live from Westminster Abbey and the procession through the streets of London.

Jones Homes staff from Sanctuary Court and Sanctuary Wilmslow – which is a gated neighbourhood designed exclusively for the over-55s – put up red, white and blue decorations and provided party food and drink for the residents to enjoy.

The Clubhouse is the focal point of life at Sanctuary Wilmslow and includes a function room and residents’ lounge, as well as offering customers exclusive use of a gym, sauna, steam room, spa and hair and beauty suite.

Simon Whalley, sales director for Jones Homes North West, said: “This was a really special occasion for residents at Sanctuary Wilmslow, who were able to soak up all the atmosphere from the capital on the big screen as well as socialising over party food and drink with their friends and neighbours at the development.

“Staff and residents had a really enjoyable time together. The street party brought back memories of celebrating special occasions in the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and for everyone, it demonstrated the community spirit that is thriving today at Sanctuary Wilmslow.

“This is a pioneering development which celebrates the active lives of the over-55s, offering a relaxed and leisurely lifestyle, and the coronation was the perfect opportunity for everyone to get together and enjoy a party.”

Jones Homes is currently building 38 one and two-bedroom apartments at Sanctuary Court, on Jamie Webb Drive, off Coppice Way in Wilmslow, alongside 73 apartments and cottages at Sanctuary Wilmslow.
