Jones Homes and Story Homes exchange contracts to purchase land in Garstang

Jones Homes and Story Homes have exchanged contracts for the purchase of a site near Nateby Crossing Lane off the A6 in Garstang. A joint reserved matters planning application has been submitted by the developers to Wyre Borough Council for a mixed-use scheme, including up to 254 new homes.

The proposed scheme includes a range of one to five-bedroom homes and will deliver a number of benefits to the local community, such as the provision of open market and affordable homes, office space, industrial units and usable areas of public open space, including an equipped play area.

Story Homes is proposing to deliver 135 homes with Jones Homes delivering the remaining 119. The housebuilders have worked together closely to design a high quality scheme that will deliver much needed homes that will complement the local area.

Martin Nugent, Senior Land Manager for the North West at Story Homes said: “This is a key site for Story Homes as we continue our growth plans in the region and we’re looking forward to working with Jones Homes on the scheme. Our portion of the site will deliver a range of one to five-bedroom family homes from our Story Collection, designed to suit the flexible living that people are looking for in a new home.

“Our developments in Lancashire have proved popular with customers and we’re looking forward to bringing more of our high-quality homes to the area.”
Dan Bolton, Land Director from Jones Homes (Lancashire) said: “Our mix of high quality two, three, four and five-bedroom homes will appeal to a wide range of home buyers. We are confident that the strategic location of the development on the A6 and ease of access to Preston, Lancaster and the M6 will be attractive to buyers who may not wish to live in the city but still be in close proximity.

“Together with Story Homes we look forward to what will no doubt be a popular development, building on the success of our many other developments in the county”
The housebuilders, plan to start on site in summer 2023, subject to planning application approval.
