Life in the Colne Valley
Follow the River Colne west out of Huddersfield and the land soon begins to rise. For all that village feel, Golcar is certainly a well connected community. Slaithwaite and Marsden each have their own railway station on the line between Huddersfield and Manchester, so a commute or a day out is easy without the car. Huddersfield itself is only a few miles down the valley, with fast links on to Leeds and Manchester, and the M62 within simple reach for anywhere further afield.
