Long-serving employees enjoy career progression in their two decades with Jones Homes

Two long-serving employees within the sales and marketing team at Jones Homes Yorkshire are toasting a combined 40 years of service with the company.

Sales Administration Manager Emma Clayton and Marketing and Office Manager Amanda Gerrard both moved from different industries to join the Cleckheaton-based housebuilder.

Two decades on, the pair both cite the caring environment and support they have received from colleagues as the reasons they have stayed with the family-owned company for so long.

Amanda Gerrard joined Jones Homes Yorkshire as PA to the Regional Director in 2007, having previously worked in the travel industry for more than 20 years. Within two years she was promoted to Office and Marketing Manager to oversee operations in both areas.

Amanda said: “I lived close to some Jones Homes developments at the time so I was aware of the company’s excellent reputation for customer service and build quality. When I arrived, I knew instantly that I had made the right move. Everyone made me feel so welcome and the senior management encourage and support staff to try to fulfil their potential. Their support gave me the confidence to take on more responsibility.

“I can honestly say that I love my job and a large part of that is due to my fantastic colleagues and the caring environment in which I work.”

Emma Clayton had worked as a legal case handler before joining Jones Homes as a receptionist in 2005.

She said: “I quickly knew I had found a progressive company where I could build my career. I was actively encouraged and supported, first moving into the sales and marketing department as an assistant and then being promoted to my current role in 2020.

“I am extremely happy in my role and feel fortunate to work with incredible colleagues in a positive environment. That’s the reason I have stayed with the company for so long.”
