Jones Homes has once again received five stars for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and National House Building Council (NHBC).
The highest accolade a homebuilder can achieve for exceptional customer service, the award is based on the results of the National New Home Customer Satisfaction Survey, an annual survey that gathers feedback from thousands of purchasers across the UK after they move into their new home.
One of the most comprehensive surveys of its kind in the UK, purchasers are asked a series of questions about their new home and their purchase experience from the internal and external design of their new home and timely delivery of their property, to their satisfaction with the sales, handover and aftercare processes.
Prestigious five star status is only awarded to companies where more than 90% of customers are satisfied with the quality of their home and would be happy to recommend a friend.
Managing director at Jones Homes, Gary Hardy, commented: “Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything that we do; we’re delighted that our customers are happy to recommend us to their friends and family and to be once again awarded with five stars.
“Only a small number of homebuilders received five star status this year. This makes the achievement even more special and I would like to thank our team for continually striving to raise the bar and deliver exceptional quality and service for our customers.”
The five star rating from the HBF is the latest in a number of prestigious award wins for Jones Homes; one of its site managers was recently awarded with a prestigious Regional Award from the NHBC in the much coveted Pride in the Job Awards. The company also has six nominations in the annual Local Area Building Control awards (LABC) and it has just received an award from the Civic Society for its sensitive transformation of the Grade II listed Cold Arbor Farm buildings in Macclesfield into a desirable collection of three unique and distinctive new homes.

Alex Bedson, a Site Manager for Jones Homes, has won a prestigious Regional Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) in its much coveted Pride in the Job Awards 2017.
Based at Jones Homes’ exclusive Bollin Park development in Wilmslow, Alex was honoured for his dedication to building homes of exceptional quality.
He was selected from more than 16,000 site managers from across the UK, and is one of only 12 site managers in the country to be recognised for his outstanding achievements.
Alex received his North West Regional Award in the medium builder category, and he is now automatically put forward as a candidate to compete for the ultimate accolade; a Pride in the Job Supreme Award, which will be announced in January 2018.
Having won a Pride in the Job award previously, it is the first time that Alex, who has been a site manager for over 10 years, has progressed so far in the competition.
First to congratulate Alex on his amazing achievement was Jones Homes’ Managing Director, Gary Hardy, who said: “This is a first for Jones Homes and we are incredibly proud of Alex for winning a Regional Award from the NHBC for Bollin Park. The prestige that is associated with such an accolade is widely acknowledged in the industry and it is exceptionally good news for Jones Homes that one of our site managers has been recognised as one of the best in the country.
“Alex is a talented site manager and his passion, leadership skills and commitment to building properties of the highest quality at Bollin Park has resulted in him being honoured as a top performing UK-based site manager by the NHBC.”
Now in its 37th year, the Pride in the Job Award is the most highly regarded competition in the housebuilding industry, and one all site managers strive to achieve. Judging for the awards is rigorous, with each site manager assessed in 44 areas of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and quality control.
Competition in the North West was tough, with a total of four site managers in the region taking home a Regional Award.
On his Regional Award win, Alex says: “It is brilliant news! The Pride in the Job Awards are hugely competitive amongst site managers and I am thrilled to have progressed this far in the competition. To be put forward for the Supreme Awards is overwhelming, but I am proud of what I have achieved at Bollin Park and the success of the development. It is a team effort and I hope we have something to celebrate once again in January.”
Bollin Park offers a stunning collection of magnificent four and five bedroom detached properties in a highly desirable and sought-after setting in Cheshire. Located on Adlington Road, a leafy and attractive part of Wilmslow, the development is close to the town centre and just a short drive from the neighbouring villages of Prestbury and Alderley Edge.
New research carried out by the Home Builders Federation has found that the cost of upgrading an older property to the same standard as a new build home could be as much as £50,000. The publication of the data comes at the launch of this year’s New Homes Week which aims to highlight the many benefits for consumers of buying a new build home.
From the benefits of living in an energy efficient home that could save you hundreds of pounds on your utility bills each year, to the brand-new fixtures and fittings that come as standard, buying a new build home offers many advantages when compared to buying an older property.
The research looked at the work that might have to be carried out when people move into an older home, and what would have to be done to a home to bring it up to the standards of a new property which also comes with a warranty protecting the buyer from liability on structural problems within the first 10 years. Whether it’s the price of buying and fitting a new kitchen (£7,900) or having a house rewired (£8,850), the costs for people moving into an older home can quickly mount up.
For a homeowner who wants to get the same standard of finish and functionality they could expect from a new build home, the cost could be up to £51,643. This includes paying out for:
- Kitchen - £7,900
- Bathroom - £3,800
- Central heating - £6,185
- Wiring - £8,850
- Plastering - £5,240
- Decorating - £2,500
- Flooring - £2,628
- Insulation - £775
- Windows and doors - £4,900
- Roofing - £4,000
- Guttering - £690
And the savings continue: while just 26% of second- hand homes achieve an energy efficiency rating of A to C, 94% of homes built in 2016 could boast such standards.
Commenting on the figures, Stewart Baseley, executive chairman of the Home Builders Federation, said
“Buyers of new build homes enjoy a huge number of benefits over those purchasing a second-hand home.
“During the buying process customers will receive a high level of service and support from trained sales staff. Upon moving into a property that is designed for modern living, there are all the advantages of living in a home with brand new fixtures and fittings and the latest energy efficiency technologies.
“This report helps to highlight the hidden savings that buyers of new build homes make. While most people have a budget put aside to get the little jobs done, costs soon add up when you need to replace a bathroom or a kitchen.
“£50,000 is a lot of money by anyone’s standards, and this new research emphasises just how much new build home buyers really get for their money.”
With Jones Homes distinctly high specification standards and top levels of energy efficiency built into each home, the cost of not buying new could potentially be even higher. We have even introduced rooftop solar panels at selected locations.
The Home Builders Federation has also found that New homes being built in England and Wales are considerably more energy efficient than their predecessors, saving owners hundreds of pounds a year in energy bills, A new home owner will spend on average £443.30 a year (£276 heating / £108 hot water / £60 lighting), well under half of the £1,072 the owner of an older home can expect to spend – saving, on average, £52 a month, or £629 a year. Just another reason to chose a new Jones Home for your next move.

Award-winning and five star housebuilder Jones Homes has reinforced its commitment to the local community in Harworth by continuing its shirt sponsorship of the Reserves at Harworth Colliery FC.
With a new residential development, known as Simpson Park, soon to launch in Harworth, Jones Homes was delighted to renew its shirt sponsorship for an additional two years.
With the Club’s current floodlights in need of updating and all replacing with LED bulbs, the housebuilder also donated £1000 towards this project, which will be completed next month.
Jones Homes has actively supported Harworth Colliery FC since 2013, when it first started building in the town at its successful Woodland Grange development on Scrooby Road.
Simpson Park, Jones Homes’ new development in Harworth, will comprise a total of 71 new build homes, including a mix of three bedroom semi-detached houses and four bedroom detached properties.
Jayne Swift, Sales and Marketing Director at Jones Homes, comments: “Over the course of the last five years we have supported Harworth Colliery FC through the provision of kits as well as monetary donations to improve the Club and pitch-side advertising boards. Given our previous development, Woodland Grange, we feel very at home in Harworth so there was no question to extend our support.
“We have over the years developed a strong relationship with the Club and with a new development due to launch very soon in Harworth, it was important to us to renew our shirt sponsorship for the Reserves, and contribute towards the Club’s latest refurbishment project. We wish the Reserves team a successful 2018/2019 season.”
Jonathan Wilson, Chairman at Harworth Colliery FC, adds: “We are extremely grateful to Jones Homes for its continuous support of the Club. Being able to replace and maintain the kit for the Reserves is so important as this team provides a platform for the younger players, helping them to progress and realise their full potential.
“The donation of £1000 is very generous and much needed. Jones Homes has become an integral part of our local community and it is great news that they will be building more homes in Harworth.”
Construction has now started at Simpson Park. For further information or to register your interest, please call Jones Homes on 01274 852700
Having received planning consent, award-winning and five star housebuilder Jones Homes is pleased to announce that it has acquired circa two acres of land on Swallow Lane in Golcar for a new residential development.
To be known as Century View due to its close proximity to Golcar Cricket Club, the development will comprise a total of 19 new build homes, offering a mix of three bedroom semi-detached houses and four bedroom detached family homes.
Having previously built in the village delivering 20 dwellings off Leymoor Road 18 months ago, Jones Homes is delighted to be back in Golcar.
David Ruffley, Regional Director at Jones Homes, comments: “Following the success of the previous development we are looking forward to getting started on site and are confident the range of well-designed three and four bedroom properties will be in high demand.”

Internally, the properties have been carefully designed, inspired by modern lifestyles, and will boast practical floor layouts which provide generous living spaces complemented by a superior specification.

Award-winning and five-star housebuilder Jones Homes is delighted to announce that it has acquired a further 5.95 acres of land in Harworth, North Nottinghamshire, from Harworth Group Plc to build 71 new homes.
The site, which sees the re-development of the former Harworth Colliery, will be known as Simpson Park and has been named after the legendary world champion cyclist Tom Simpson, who previously lived in Harworth.
Jones’ investment is part of Harworth Group’s wider plans to bring forward over 1500 new residential plots over the next fifteen years.
The purchase follows the unprecedented success of Jones Homes’ first residential development in Harworth, Woodland Grange, where 118 stylish new build homes were built and sold over the course of the last three years.
Ensuring that Simpson Park appeals to all buyers, from First-Time-Buyers to families and those looking to downsize, Jones Homes will provide a mix of three bedroom semi-detached houses and four bedroom detached properties.
David Ruffley, Regional Director at Jones Homes, comments: “We are delighted to be back building in Harworth with a superb new residential development. We are looking forward to getting started on site and are confident the range of well-designed properties will be in high demand.
“Having built up a good reputation based on the success of Woodland Grange, we are urging potential purchasers to register their interest now for further information and prices when they are released.”
Preparation works have been part-funded by a £4m Homes England loan, secured when the scheme became a Government-backed ‘Housing Zone’ in 2015. Funding from the loan is also being used to pay for other on and off site infrastructure works to support the future delivery of 1500 new homes, one of the largest brownfield regeneration schemes in the Midlands.
Ed Catchpole, Development Manager at Harworth Group PLC, adds: “Jones Homes did an excellent job with their first 118 homes in Harworth, which has greatly contributed to the ongoing regeneration of the village, and so we are delighted that they have bought the site’s second phase. Simpsons Park is a 15-year development programme and having high quality products like Jones’ is an essential part of supporting the build-out of the wider scheme.”
In addition to the new residential development, Jones Homes will make a significant financial contribution to the locality, including a contribution of £169,264 towards education provision.
Construction on site is scheduled to start imminently. For further information on Simpson Park, or to register your interest, please call Jones Homes on 01274 852700

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at a new homes development in Marden, thanks to housebuilder Jones Homes.
The developer called in one of the country’s leading interior design companies to teach people how to make their own Christmas wreaths at a free demonstration at Appledown Grange, off Howland Road.
Staff from interior designers Claude Hooper showed guests how to make a beautiful Christmas wreath, as well as giving them hints and tips on how to decorate their own homes for the season.
Lisa Burrell, Account Manager at Claude Hooper, said: “We were delighted to hold this special evening at Appledown Grange.
