Jones Homes has once again received five stars for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and National House Building Council (NHBC).
The highest accolade a homebuilder can achieve for exceptional customer service, the award is based on the results of the National New Home Customer Satisfaction Survey, an annual survey that gathers feedback from thousands of purchasers across the UK after they move into their new home.
One of the most comprehensive surveys of its kind in the UK, purchasers are asked a series of questions about their new home and their purchase experience from the internal and external design of their new home and timely delivery of their property, to their satisfaction with the sales, handover and aftercare processes.
Prestigious five star status is only awarded to companies where more than 90% of customers are satisfied with the quality of their home and would be happy to recommend a friend.
Managing director at Jones Homes, Gary Hardy, commented: “Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything that we do; we’re delighted that our customers are happy to recommend us to their friends and family and to be once again awarded with five stars.
“Only a small number of homebuilders received five star status this year. This makes the achievement even more special and I would like to thank our team for continually striving to raise the bar and deliver exceptional quality and service for our customers.”
The five star rating from the HBF is the latest in a number of prestigious award wins for Jones Homes; one of its site managers was recently awarded with a prestigious Regional Award from the NHBC in the much coveted Pride in the Job Awards. The company also has six nominations in the annual Local Area Building Control awards (LABC) and it has just received an award from the Civic Society for its sensitive transformation of the Grade II listed Cold Arbor Farm buildings in Macclesfield into a desirable collection of three unique and distinctive new homes.
With a history of excellence and an enviable reputation for build quality and customer care, Jones Homes is a privately-owned housebuilder with a Head Office in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, and regional offices in Lancashire, Yorkshire and Kent.
The company has more than 50 years expertise in the design and build of high quality new homes and currently has around 30 developments taking shape in highly sought after residential areas across the UK.

They also boast an exceptional internal specification, with high quality contemporary kitchens with integrated appliances, modern bathrooms and en suites and a range of luxurious fixtures and fittings.
Managing director at Jones Homes, Gary Hardy, commented: “We’re delighted to have secured permission for a further phase of homes at Barrington Park. Offering a delightful semi-rural lifestyle in the charming village of Alsager, yet close to M6 for travelling and commuting, it is a great location and one of the many reasons why our previous phase has been in such high demand. Having built in Alsager previously, we are very much part of the local community and look forward to offering more quality new build homes to buyers from across the local area.”
Within the planning agreement, Jones Homes will make a number of Section 106 contributions that will be of direct benefit to the local community. A total of £125,950 will be contributed towards education, public green space, play space enhancement and wildlife habitat enhancement.

Managing director at Jones Homes, Gary Hardy, commented: “We are delighted to have secured land in Kendal and have the opportunity to showcase our homes in this enviable location on the edge of the Lake District National Park.
“Kendal is a thriving market town and a highly desirable place to live and work, or own a second home. Our Stonecross Meadows development promises to offer an array of highly specified new homes in an attractive semi-rural setting. We’ve already received a great deal of interest in the scheme and anticipate properties being in high demand once they are officially released for sale.”
Stonecross Meadows is Jones Homes’ first development in south Lakeland. The company has a history of excellence and an enviable reputation for build quality and customer care across the UK and is delighted to be expanding into Cumbria, bringing its highly sought after new build homes to buyers in Kendal and the surrounding areas.
Underlining its commitment to the region, Jones Homes has already committed to contribute more than £300,000 towards improving educational facilities in the town and improvement of local highways.
Construction at Stonecross Meadows is expected to start in April and take around four years. Homes are expected to be released for sale from Summer 2018 with showhomes to follow in early 2019 and the first homes ready for occupation in Spring 2019.

Alex Bedson, a Site Manager for Jones Homes, has won a prestigious Regional Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) in its much coveted Pride in the Job Awards 2017.
Based at Jones Homes’ exclusive Bollin Park development in Wilmslow, Alex was honoured for his dedication to building homes of exceptional quality.
He was selected from more than 16,000 site managers from across the UK, and is one of only 12 site managers in the country to be recognised for his outstanding achievements.
Alex received his North West Regional Award in the medium builder category, and he is now automatically put forward as a candidate to compete for the ultimate accolade; a Pride in the Job Supreme Award, which will be announced in January 2018.
Having won a Pride in the Job award previously, it is the first time that Alex, who has been a site manager for over 10 years, has progressed so far in the competition.
First to congratulate Alex on his amazing achievement was Jones Homes’ Managing Director, Gary Hardy, who said: “This is a first for Jones Homes and we are incredibly proud of Alex for winning a Regional Award from the NHBC for Bollin Park. The prestige that is associated with such an accolade is widely acknowledged in the industry and it is exceptionally good news for Jones Homes that one of our site managers has been recognised as one of the best in the country.
“Alex is a talented site manager and his passion, leadership skills and commitment to building properties of the highest quality at Bollin Park has resulted in him being honoured as a top performing UK-based site manager by the NHBC.”
Now in its 37th year, the Pride in the Job Award is the most highly regarded competition in the housebuilding industry, and one all site managers strive to achieve. Judging for the awards is rigorous, with each site manager assessed in 44 areas of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and quality control.
Competition in the North West was tough, with a total of four site managers in the region taking home a Regional Award.
On his Regional Award win, Alex says: “It is brilliant news! The Pride in the Job Awards are hugely competitive amongst site managers and I am thrilled to have progressed this far in the competition. To be put forward for the Supreme Awards is overwhelming, but I am proud of what I have achieved at Bollin Park and the success of the development. It is a team effort and I hope we have something to celebrate once again in January.”
Bollin Park offers a stunning collection of magnificent four and five bedroom detached properties in a highly desirable and sought-after setting in Cheshire. Located on Adlington Road, a leafy and attractive part of Wilmslow, the development is close to the town centre and just a short drive from the neighbouring villages of Prestbury and Alderley Edge.

New research carried out by the Home Builders Federation has found that the cost of upgrading an older property to the same standard as a new build home could be as much as £50,000. The publication of the data comes at the launch of this year’s New Homes Week which aims to highlight the many benefits for consumers of buying a new build home.
From the benefits of living in an energy efficient home that could save you hundreds of pounds on your utility bills each year, to the brand-new fixtures and fittings that come as standard, buying a new build home offers many advantages when compared to buying an older property.
The research looked at the work that might have to be carried out when people move into an older home, and what would have to be done to a home to bring it up to the standards of a new property which also comes with a warranty protecting the buyer from liability on structural problems within the first 10 years. Whether it’s the price of buying and fitting a new kitchen (£7,900) or having a house rewired (£8,850), the costs for people moving into an older home can quickly mount up.
For a homeowner who wants to get the same standard of finish and functionality they could expect from a new build home, the cost could be up to £51,643. This includes paying out for:
- Kitchen - £7,900
- Bathroom - £3,800
- Central heating - £6,185
- Wiring - £8,850
- Plastering - £5,240
- Decorating - £2,500
- Flooring - £2,628
- Insulation - £775
- Windows and doors - £4,900
- Roofing - £4,000
- Guttering - £690
And the savings continue: while just 26% of second- hand homes achieve an energy efficiency rating of A to C, 94% of homes built in 2016 could boast such standards.
Commenting on the figures, Stewart Baseley, executive chairman of the Home Builders Federation, said
“Buyers of new build homes enjoy a huge number of benefits over those purchasing a second-hand home.
“During the buying process customers will receive a high level of service and support from trained sales staff. Upon moving into a property that is designed for modern living, there are all the advantages of living in a home with brand new fixtures and fittings and the latest energy efficiency technologies.
“This report helps to highlight the hidden savings that buyers of new build homes make. While most people have a budget put aside to get the little jobs done, costs soon add up when you need to replace a bathroom or a kitchen.
“£50,000 is a lot of money by anyone’s standards, and this new research emphasises just how much new build home buyers really get for their money.”
With Jones Homes distinctly high specification standards and top levels of energy efficiency built into each home, the cost of not buying new could potentially be even higher. We have even introduced rooftop solar panels at selected locations.
The Home Builders Federation has also found that New homes being built in England and Wales are considerably more energy efficient than their predecessors, saving owners hundreds of pounds a year in energy bills, A new home owner will spend on average £443.30 a year (£276 heating / £108 hot water / £60 lighting), well under half of the £1,072 the owner of an older home can expect to spend – saving, on average, £52 a month, or £629 a year. Just another reason to chose a new Jones Home for your next move.

With central Manchester property prices soaring, many people who work in the region are looking further afield for their homes.
Some move out to the Manchester suburbs, but for those who really want more house for their cash, then the northern countryside is the place to buy.
Danny Hall and Vicky Birch have just moved from central Manchester to The Orchards, a new Jones Homes development in the picturesque village of Netherthong, near Holmfirth, West Yorkshire – and are delighted with their decision.
Danny, 36, who runs a software development company, said: “There’s no way we’d move back now. Not a chance. We were a bit concerned beforehand about rattling around in a big house in a village, but we love it here.”
Danny and partner Vicky, 37, who works for the BBC, moved from a two-bedroom city centre apartment in Castlefield to a new, four-bedroom house at The Orchards.
“Me and Vicks lived in Manchester city centre for 10 years,” said Danny. “But always thought we’d move out of town at some point.
“Netherthong is a proper sleepy little village: no traffic, no bottles being thrown at midnight and amazing views out of our back window of rolling hills and farmland.
“We can’t believe how dark it is at night here. In Manchester, there was a glow from the city, so it was bright in the house even with the blinds closed.
“And yet although it’s quiet, it’s only a 10-minute walk down the hill to Holmfirth, and there’s a lot going on down there.”
What about the commute into Manchester, where the couple both still work?
Danny said: “It’s about 30 to 35 miles, but if you set off early and get back early, it’s not a difficult journey and it’s a beautiful, picturesque drive.”
The couple felt they had ‘lived the city centre lifestyle to the full’ said Danny and were house-hunting for ‘something different; something wholesome!’
They started looking at older, ‘classic Yorkshire’ properties, but found that all the houses they were shown needed work – a new kitchen here; a better bathroom there.
Danny said: “We found the Jones Homes development in Netherthong by accident, and we liked it straight away. The house we saw had the modern feel of our Manchester apartment, but with more space and in a countryside location. The next day we came back and put a reservation down.”
The couple love the large kitchen/dining room in their new home, which has become the hub of their house. Danny is also delighted to have a garage at last for all his motorbike stuff.
He added: “Friends have been over to see us in Netherthong – a couple of them have moved into Manchester suburbs – and they think it’s fabulous.
“And of course you get more for your money in rural Yorkshire. It’s the same money for a four-bedroom detached house here as a tiny terraced house in Didsbury or Chorlton.”
There’s a choice of four and five-bedroom houses available to reserve at The Orchards, with prices starting from £355,995.

Work is now well under way on a development of 58 homes which will generate more than £500,000 of investment in the Holme Valley.
Jones Homes is building three, four and five-bedroom houses at Heather View on Dunford Road in Hade Edge.
As part of the planning agreement for Heather View, Jones Homes will contribute £246,000 towards local education and £287,500 to fund road improvements in the local area. Twelve affordable homes will also be built to help meet local housing need.
David Ruffley, Regional Director for Jones Homes Yorkshire, said: “New homes bring many benefits to communities and we are proud to be investing in Hade Edge and the wider Holmfirth area.
“The homes we are building at Heather View have been designed to cater for everyone from aspiring first-time buyers and young professionals to growing families and people looking to downsize.
“We worked closely with the local authority to determine the mix of homes. They include three-bedroom semi-detached and four and five-bedroom detached homes. The affordable homes will include two bungalows.
“We are no strangers to the Holme Valley, having built more than 20 developments in Kirklees over the past 20 years and as such, have seen a good response from interested parties. The location is proving popular with people who live further afield, as well as those wishing to remain within the village and people looking to set down roots in the Holme Valley.
“Our planning contributions will ensure the infrastructure is in place to support the sensitive expansion of the village.”
Building work is progressing apace at Heather View. The showhome will be unveiled in January and the first residents are expected to move in soon afterwards.

Century View will help first-time buyers to take their first steps on the housing ladder.
In addition to bringing 15 detached homes and one semi-detached home for private sale, Jones Homes will offer three starter homes for people who meet qualifying criteria.
There will be 19 homes in total, ranging from three-bedroom semi-detached to four-bedroom detached houses.
Jones Homes will create three starter homes specifically for first-time buyers at the development off Swallow Lane.
Century View will be set around a green open space and groundworks have already begun.
David Ruffley, Regional Director for Jones Homes Yorkshire, said: “Jones Homes has previously built in Golcar, with a development of 20 houses at Meadow View off Leymoor Road having completed in 2017.
“We know the market here well and Century View will deliver homes that meet the needs and expectations of purchasers in this area.
“Meadow View provided homes for first-time buyers and growing families. Century View will cater for a wide range of buyers and will offer a new opportunity for local first-time buyers to purchase a home below the usual market value.”
The discounted homes will be available to people aged 23 to 39 who have a connection to the local area, as well as people who meet qualifying criteria set by the local authority. They discounted homes will be available at 20 per cent below the usual cost.
Sales are expected to commence in Spring 2019.

Jones Homes has acquired 9.8 acres of land to create a new village in Derbyshire.
Van Dyk Village has been designed to have the look and feel of a village which has evolved over decades, using differing styles of architecture. Houses will be a mixture of stone, varying colours and types of brick and render and even the road surfaces will vary throughout the site.
A focal point will be the five-bedroom Manor House, visible from the entrance to the new village. The remaining homes will include terraced, semi-detached and detached houses. The village landscape will include open spaces, with a village green featuring a pond.
The innovative design approach has been developed by Jones Homes in conjunction Bolsover District Council’s planning team.
David Ruffley, Regional Director for Jones Homes, said: “The task of planning a new village brings great responsibility. We have taken our time to work with the local planners to ensure what we are creating is an attractive development and we are almost ready to unveil the final details of the plans.
“Our designers have taken inspiration from some exemplary new homes developments around the country and from more traditional village architecture. We are looking forward to the launch of the development early next year as we put Van Dyk Village on the map.”
Set in the grounds of the former Southgate Estate off the A619 Worksop Road in Chesterfield, the land was most recently used as a garden centre. In the past it housed stables, servant accommodation and outbuildings belonging to Southgate House, which is now a hotel.
The sale of the land for development is helping to fund the expansion of the hotel to ensure it continues to thrive and support the wider local economy.
As part of the planning consent for Van Dyk Village, archaeologists have been working on the site since the summer and Jones Homes is supporting their work.

Jones Homes has acquired 5.95 acres of land at the former Harworth and Birtles Colliery site.
Simpson Park, a development of 71 homes off Colliery Road in Harworth, marks the next phase of regeneration of the former colliery. It will open to visitors early in 2019.
Jones Homes is building three and four-bedroom houses at the development, having completed work on the first stage of the colliery’s regeneration in April. The company built 118 homes at Woodland Grange, off Scrooby Road.
This new development forms part of the wider Simpson Park development, a major growth project by Harworth Estates. It is named in memory of former Harworth cyclist Tom Simpson.
David Ruffley, Regional Director for Jones Homes, said: “Jones Homes is delighted to be involved in this landmark regeneration project and we are committed to providing quality new homes in Harworth.
“Woodland Grange was a huge success. The homes were bought by local people who were looking for highly-specified quality, low-maintenance homes, as well as people looking to move to the area because of strong links to the A1, M1 and M62.
“Our new homes in Harworth are meeting the needs of local people and attracting more residents to the area, which in turn provides a boost to the local economy.
“We are looking forward to welcoming people to Simpson Park and helping to drive forward the regeneration of Harworth.”
Jones Homes will contribute around £170,000 towards education as part of its planning agreement for Simpson Park. This is in addition to the £635,000 invested in infrastructure under the planning agreement for Woodland Grange. The money went towards affordable homes, community facilities, education and public open spaces.
Simpson Park currently has outline planning permission for up to 996 homes. The landowners, Harworth Estates, have now applied to extend this consent to 1,300 homes and to provide a primary school, pub restaurant and public open space. The additional homes would be on land previously allocated for employment use.

Jones Homes has completed work on a new development which will support the growth of an East Sussex village.
The final phase of work at Mayfield Place, in Mayfield, has transformed a disused haulage depot into an attractive range of homes and generated almost £55,000 of investment in the local community.
The land in Love Lane, once a sandstone quarry, had been allocated for commercial use but the need for more homes in the village proved more pressing.
Mayfield Place has created new homes on both sides of Love Lane. The first phase of 13 three and four-bedroom houses is now completed and occupied and the final townhouses are ready to move into.
Sara Stanhope, Sales Director for Jones Homes Southern, said: “Building homes in a village as picturesque as Mayfield comes with great responsibility. Our task was to create functional homes that maximise space in a modern layout, without compromising on aesthetics.
“The final phase of townhouses demonstrate why three-storey living is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Layout is crucial - Jones Homes has been building for 60 years so we understand how our homes need to adapt to our purchasers’ lifestyles.
“The townhouses at Mayfield Place have a top floor dedicated to a master bedroom with en-suite and dressing area. The middle floor has two bedrooms and a family bathroom and the ground floor is devoted entirely to living space, with a kitchen/breakfast area and lounge diner which leads onto the garden.”
Jones Homes has contributed £46,500 towards play facilities for the village and more than £8,000 towards the maintenance of natural green spaces in the local area.
Four of the five townhouses at Mayfield Place are now available to purchase, from £450,000 to £460,000. The show home is available to view by appointment through Lambert and Foster Estate Agents on 01435 873999. For more information see jones-homes.co.uk.

Jones Homes Southern is preparing to start work on a development of 70 homes in Lenham.
The developer, based in Swanley, has purchased 7.4 acres of land off Ham Lane in the village and secured full planning consent to build the homes.
Jones Homes will make contributions of around £290,000 to support local infrastructure, including education and healthcare, as part of the planning approval.
The company will give over £140,000 to Kent County Council for primary school places; nearly £60,000 towards open spaces; over £55,000 to local healthcare; £20,000 towards traffic improvements and a £10,000 contribution to local libraries.
Sara Stanhope, Sales Director for Jones Homes Southern, said: “This will be a lovely development in a beautiful setting, which has excellent transport links locally and from Ashford and Maidstone into London.
“We will be building a range of three and four-bedroom homes, so the development will cater for a variety of people’s needs.”
The development will feature a landscaped area to the north-west of the site, hedges to the east and south will be preserved and there will be nest boxes for swifts to the north of the development, where the houses will look out onto the Kent Downs.
Sara Stanhope said: “Our role extends beyond building homes – we are focused on joining communities, so we are pleased to be creating the homes that the local market needs, while giving major contributions to local education, health and open spaces.
“We have a strong heritage in Lenham and look forward to returning to the village.”
Jones Homes previously built 19 houses and apartments at Westwood Grange in Lenham on land adjoining the new development.

Why is it that a two-bedroom house often has smaller rooms than a four-bedroom house?
Innovative builder Jones Homes has always said that customers who want fewer rooms don’t want them to have any less space.
That’s why the developer is building bigger-than-average two-bedroom homes at its popular Bluebell Meadow development in pretty Wisborough Green in West Sussex.
The Bolney, for example, is a two-bedroom detached home at Bluebell Meadow with a generous 17-foot living room, a kitchen/dining room of the same length and upstairs two amazing 17ft bedrooms. It’s priced at £480,000.
The Petworth design, meanwhile, offers semi-detached splendour with a 14ft diner flowing into a 15ft kitchen. There’s also a 13ft living room. Upstairs are two bedrooms measuring 15ft and 13ft respectively. Prices start from £445,000.
Sara Stanhope, Sales Director for Jones Homes Southern, said: “We’ve never understood at Jones Homes why people who want fewer rooms in their home should make do with smaller rooms.
“People are starting on the property ladder much later these days and may well already have children that need the extra space of generous rooms.
“If on the other hand you’re downsizing, you’re going to be used to bigger rooms. You don’t want to be changing all your furniture at the same time as you change your house!”
Of course there aren’t just two-bedroom homes at Bluebell Meadow. Jones Homes is also bringing stylish, generous three and four-bedroom homes to the development in Wisborough Green.
And better still, the village has all the charm of a quintessentially English village – an array of pretty period houses and cottages, a village shop, a café, two local pubs and a large village green which hosts events from cricket to hot air ballooning.
So what are you waiting for? Let your home search take off at Bluebell Meadow! For more information, or to arrange a viewing, ring the sales staff on 01403 701033.

A family of four from Marden have been able to secure their first home, thanks to the Help to Buy scheme.
Earlier this year, Shannon and Jacqui O’Reilly decided it was time to move out of the three-bedroom terrace house they were renting and buy their very own home.
Along with their two children, Tyler (8) and Sahara (6), the couple used the Help to Buy scheme to purchase a four-bedroom home at Jones Homes’ Appledown Grange development, off Howland Road.
Shannon (35) said: “We never thought we would have been able to buy a four-bedroom property as our first home, and without the Help to Buy scheme it just wouldn’t have been realistic.
“The scheme made a huge difference to the type of property we could afford. It meant we didn’t have to settle, and we were able to choose a home which will suit us for years to come.
“We had been searching for quite a while, and originally looking at older properties, but as soon as we found out about Appledown Grange we knew we wanted to live there. Unlike other developments we had seen, it was extremely spacious, so we didn’t have to worry that it would feel overcrowded.
“The house itself is beautiful, and the whole family is really enjoying having their own space, especially the children.
“A huge advantage of buying a new-build home is that you have a sales advisor to help you through the whole process. We had never bought a house before, so having that extra guidance was fantastic.”
Jones Homes is building a range of three, four and five-bedroom properties at Appledown Grange, with prices starting from £389,995.
More information on the homes available can be found at jones-homes.co.uk.

A new Jones Homes development in Burgess Hill will generate investment of more than £800,000 into the local community.
Jones Homes is preparing to open the doors to its new Folders Grove development, located off Folders Lane, early in the new year.
The development will include 73 homes, ranging from two to five-bedroom properties.
As part of its planning agreement for the development, Jones Homes will invest £228,000 to support local primary schools, almost £250,000 for secondary schools and £57,000 for local sixth form education.
The company will also contribute £34,000 towards community buildings, £78,000 for sports facilities and £47,000 towards healthcare. There will be a £21,000 payment for the town’s library, £63,000 towards play spaces and £44,000 to support local community infrastructure.
Jones Homes has also agreed to pay for local transport improvements and traffic calming measures in the nearby village of Ditchling.
Sara Stanhope, Sales Director for Jones Homes Southern, said: “We are extremely pleased to bring Folders Grove on to the market in Burgess Hill.
“We are offering buyers a wide range of high-quality homes. Construction is already underway on site and the first properties are due to be released for sale in January.
“The development will contribute to local infrastructure, helping to support the town as it grows. This demonstrates the benefits that new homes bring to the wider community. In addition, new homes create jobs during the construction process, support local contractors and attract more money to the local economy.
“At Folders Grove we will be offering the opportunity for people to buy their first or next home with just a five per cent deposit using Help to Buy.”
The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme offers a 20 per cent equity loan to people buying a new home priced up to £600,000. The purchaser needs a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage.
Folders Grove is perched on the fringe of the South Downs and is surrounded by beautiful countryside in a fantastic part of the country. Burgess Hill itself provides two leisure centres, two shopping centres and excellent schools.
